Cookie and storage notice

Last updated: 14 July 2026

Report Scout uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in, security and consent choices. Optional analytics and performance technologies remain disabled until you allow them. Rejecting optional technologies does not prevent use of the service.

Essential technologies

NamePurposeTypical lifetime
report_scout_refresh_tokenSecure HttpOnly session renewal.30 days
rr_oauth_frontend_base and OAuth stateReturns a social-sign-in attempt to the correct Report Scout page and prevents request forgery.10 minutes or less
rs_consent_v1 / Termly consent storageRemembers your categories and policy version.6 months
rs_consent_idRandom identifier used only to maintain consent evidence; it is not an advertising identifier.6 months, renewed with the consent choice

Optional analytics and performance

After analytics consent, Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights receive limited page, referrer, country/region, device/browser and performance information. Report Scout may also create random rs_anonymous_id and session-only rs_session_id values for allow-listed funnel events. We do not put names or email addresses in analytics properties. These identifiers are removed when analytics consent is withdrawn.

Personalisation and marketing

No anonymous personalisation, advertising cookies or cross-site tracking are used in this version. Signed-in recommendations use a server-side account record rather than a recommendation cookie. The personalisation and marketing categories are reserved so a future feature cannot be enabled silently; a new purpose requires notice and consent.

Managing choices

Use the “Privacy choices” link in every page footer to accept, reject or change optional categories. Global Privacy Control is treated as refusal of marketing and personalisation. Termly’s scan report must be reviewed after every material vendor or script change; any newly detected technology must be classified before production release.
